The Council on Accreditation (COA) granted Langley Community Services Society (LCSS) a 4 year accreditation based on LCSS’ exceptional work and service delivery.  Previously LCSS was accredited for a select number of programs through CARF.  In an effort to provide more accountability to both clients and the community LCSS decided to move to the more encompassing, and exhaustive, accreditation process offered by COA.

COA has accredited 7 of LCSS’ programs: Family Place North, Family Place South, Child Care Resource & Referral, Community Counselling, Parent Outreach & Education, Family Connections, and Substance Use Services.

The Council on Accreditation (COA) is an international, independent, non-profit, human service accrediting organization.  Founded in 1977 by the Child Welfare League of America and Family Service America (now the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities), their mission is to partner with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards.

COA currently accredits more than 2,200 organizations and programs serving more than 7 million individuals and families world-wide.

Langley Community Services Society assists more than 10,000 individuals and families on an annual basis to enhance their lives through the provision of programs, services and information.  LCSS is a community-based, multi-service, non-profit organization that was incorporated in 1971.  The agency has more than 40 years’ experience delivering family and community social services to Langley (Township and City) and the surrounding communities.
