Fast Track Education Assistant (EA) Training
LANGLEY COMMUNITY SERVICES SOCIETY in partnership with Western Community College and PICS is pleased to offer Fast Track Education Assistant Training
Benefits:
- Obtain an Education Assistant (EA) Diploma
- Receive additional certificates: Essential Skills, Privacy Training, Emergency and Mental Health First Aid, Gender Based Analysis+, Food Safe, Pandemic Awareness, and Indigenous Cultural Awareness
- Work experience/practicum with school districts and private educational institutions
- Participants are provided with personal laptop for online/in-person classes
- Opportunity to work as: Education Assistant, Behavior Intervention Assistant, or Special Needs Assistant
- Potential wage of up to $28/hr
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be on EI or have had a claim in the last 5 years or have earned more than $2,000 in insurable earnings and paid employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years, or a British Columbia Employment and Assistance Client
- Must meet English language requirement (equivalent to CLB 6)
- Must have Minimum Grade 12 completion
- Must be a resident of BC (i.e., Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident)
- Must be referred by WorkBC Case Manager (PBLMT) and pass a criminal record check
- Be able to commit to the in-person (WCC in Surrey) and online 27-week training (9am-3pm) Monday to Friday
